Work Experience
Summer 2011
Worked for Outdoor Discovery Adventure Centre over the Summer. I also plan to work at that Centre Summer 2012. The work included kayaking with various types of groups, from kids to adults both on flat water and on the River Inny. I was also an activity instructor in Whitewater Tubing, Rafting, Canoeing, Zorbing, Archery and different ypes of land based games like Orienteering and team building challenges.
Other Relevant Information
I have been kayaking for nearly 7 years. I hold a level 4 proficiency Kayak Skills Certificate and am currently in training for a level 5 proficiency. I also hold a level 3 proficiency in Open Canoeing. I am currently a trainee level 3 kayak instructor. Even though i may not hold the relevant qualifications yet, i have lots of experience leading all different types of groups, from total beginners to experienced paddlers, down all different types of rivers.
I have led groups of kayakers down rivers in France, Italy and Slovenia. I have taught loads of skills to those I have led. I have also led many groups down the Lower Shannon/Castleconnel run in Limerick as well as led more experienced groups down the Clare Glens, in Tipperary.
